These groups can identify weak points, set priorities, and train workers. With technical skills already stretched thin, structured programs inside organizations may be the most effective way to close knowledge gaps and prepare for the future.

Commoditization is inevitable

Quantum hardware is rare and costly today but history points to rapid change. Artificial intelligence moved from research labs to consumer apps within a few years. Quantum computing will follow a similar path. Once the technology spreads, malicious actors will gain the ability to break current encryption without extraordinary resources.

Moving to post quantum security will take years of planning and technical effort. Waiting for a deadline risks being too late.
